Norman Arthur Kaatz, 62, of Conroe was born October 5, 1947 in Northfield, Minnesota and passed away
January 6, 2010 in Conroe, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Minnie Hazelwood Kaatz; children, Aaron Kaatz of Corpus Christi, Texas , Devin Kaatz of Conroe,
Texas, Kimberly Dennison and husband, Schott of Union, Washington; grandchildren, Faith Brimberry, Angela Brimberry, Ashley
Dennison all of Union, Washington, Demetrius Kaatz and Jeremiah Kaatz of Corpus Christi, Texas; sister, Sharon Nord and husband
Rick of Dundas, Minnesota ; brother, Russell DeMann of Knoxville, Tennessee; numerous other relatives and many friends.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Jared and Evelyn Kaatz of Dundas, Minnesota.
Family will receive friends from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m., Friday, January 8th at Living Way United Methodist Church ,
( 17555 Highway 242, Conroe, TX 77302 ) with a 2:00p.m . Funeral Service to follow with Rev. Bill Posey officiating.
Internment: Dry Creek Cemetery on FM 3083 in Conroe.
Obituary: Brad Carel.
Brad Carel, age 60, loving husband, father, grandfather (Bubba), and friend to
everyone he ever met, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 29, 2007.
He was born to Robert and Helen (Kamish) Carel April 29, 1947 in Northfield , MN.
He was a 1965 graduate of Northfield High School. Brad owned and operated Carel
Drywall for more than 30 years. His work put him in contact with many people over
the years whose lives are better for having known him. He was a gifted athlete and
was inducted into the Northfield Hall of Fame in 2004. He loved to lay on the beach
in Florida soaking up the sun and especially enjoyed taking trips to the track to
watch the horses race.
He married Ginger (Tussing) Carel in 1971.
Above all else he was devoted to his wife, daughters, sons-in-law,
and grandchildren. Brad is survived by his wife Ginger of Hastings,
daughter April (Patrick) McLaughlin of South St. Paul and their children
Careline and Braden, Krista (David) Kay of Inver Grove Heights and their
children Daniel and Emily, uncle Dan Kamish, brothers and sisters Bruce Carel,
Darlene (David) Lindberg, Doug(Gail) Carel, Greg (Becky) Carel, Bob Carel,
Donna Duffy, Rick Carel, many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
Obituary: Linda Jones Hesse.
We've received news that our classmate Linda Jones Hesse died Tuesday,
August 7, 2007, in Texas. Linda had been confined to a wheelchair for several years,
and when she choked during a meal on Saturday, her husband was unable to help her
before EMTs arrived. She was in a coma until she died on Tuesday. She is survived
by her husband Jim and their daughter Jennifer. Her memorial service will be in
Texas.
Her mother, Vi Jones, a resident at the Northfield Retirement Center, told
Debbie Freeman Buchbinder that Linda's childhood polio had lead to serious health
problems in the past few years, but that she had still managed to visit family in
Minnesota as recently as last summer.
She will be remembered by her classmates for her enthusiastic participation
in school activities, her wonderful laugh, and her indomitable spirit.
Obituary: Ellie Grier Morisette.
Elinor Morisette, age 60, of Northfield, died on Friday, March 30th, 2007 in Northfield, MN.
Elinor Jane Grier, the daughter of Harold and Mae (Spuhler) Grier was born on February 28, 1947 in Northfield. She attended the Northfield Schools and graduated with the class of 1965 from the Northfield High School.
After graduation, Elinor attended Winona State College.
In 1972 she was united in marriage to Art Morisette in Northfield.
Art passed away suddenly in 1975.
Elinor worked at St. Olaf in the Department of Foreign Languages.
In 1999, she began working at Carleton College as secretary to the president of Carleton College.
Her hobbies included sewing and reading.
She is survived by two brothers, Norman (and his wife, Daryl) of Hubertus, Wisconsin, and John (and his wife, Julie) of Richfield, one sister; Elizabeth Grier of Savage, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Art.
No formal funeral service will be held.
Memorials are preferred to the Rice County Humane Society,
1201 Cannon Circle, Faribault, MN 555021 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
